Going with the flow…

The Project:

In construction we all have projects where everything falls into place and works out perfectly, right? Well this was the exact opposite of that. We worked on an office relocation for Georgetown Scott County Division of Revenue and while we did everything in our power to meet the schedule deadline, we failed. Yes, I said it. We failed. And the worst part – a sub (who’s contract was directly under the customer) kept letting the schedule slip to the point where we had to shift the move weekend from mid-March to early May. Yup, you heard that right – a whole two months difference. Even after all that, we failed inspection because the doors didn’t allow proper egress (due to the same sub’s negligence). Luckily, we were able to get that addressed and then also leverage our relationship with the Inspector to get back on his schedule quickly… In the end, the move proceeded as planned. We’ve all had projects that are difficult and usually it’s those that we learn the most from. We’re really taking these lessons to heart and we’re ready to apply our knowledge to the next project.
